Over a 25-year career as a registered psychologist, I have had the privilege to support people to manage complex, painful, and confusing experiences and find a sense of balance, hope and energy that enables them to live meaningful and successful lives.
In my experience working in high schools, universities, prisons, refugee and asylum seeker services, businesses, and private psychology clinics, I have developed a collaborative, compassionate, affirming, and supportive approach in my work that aims to help everyone feel relaxed and welcome. It is important to me that I listen carefully to clients and acknowledge the intersectionality of their identity and experience. I prioritise developing a safe therapeutic environment where all human experiences are valued and celebrated.
I primarily utilise the latest behavioural and psychological interventions, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Integrated Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (MiCBT), and Compassion Focused Therapy, to help people move from surviving to thriving. I also utilise a community psychology framework to ensure my work with clients pays attention to the impact of the environments, organisations, and relationships in which they live and work. I am also passionate about the benefits of community engagement and outdoor therapies in improving mental health and wellbeing.
I am sought-after for providing services in specialist interest areas, including medical professional wellbeing; concerns regarding bodies, gender, and sexuality, including LGBTQIA+ wellbeing; tertiary student wellbeing and success; cross-cultural wellbeing, including support for refugee and asylum seeker experiences and neurodivergent wellbeing, including ADHD. I work with individuals aged 17+, couples and other intimate partnerships, families, and groups.
